Every day everyone can help bring the defeat of cancer closer.
Cancer Council NSW is working with the community every day to help bring the defeat of cancer closer and everyone can play a role, it may be as small as covering up in the sun or donating some spare change toward Ballina Relay For Life, or it may be a bigger contribution such as registering a team into this years Relay.
On the weekend of September 27 to 29 the committee are officially launching the Relay by encouraging the Ballina Shire community to take part in the Purple Party weekend. The purple party is a fun event where anyone can get together with friends by hosting a party; BBQ, Breakfast or afternoon tea, whatever takes your fancy really. It’s a great way to start spreading the word about the Ballina Shire Relay For Life.
This year the Relay is hoping to raise a whopping $100,000 and the only way to achieve this is with the support of the whole community.
Showing their support is the Ramada Hotel & Suites in Ballina. They have kindly donated a weekend for 2 for anyone who posts a photo from their Purple Party on Facebook, and the photo with the most likes will win. Just remember to tag Relay For Life Ballina for your chance to win.
“I and the Ramada Hotel in Ballina are so very proud to be involved in not only this great event but most importantly in getting the message out there that Cancer Research is so vitally important to us all and if we can all help in any way then its worth it” said Karen Whiteford, General Manager.
